I currently work in Arup’s Advanced Technology and Research group as a materials consultant. I specialise in carbon management and the circular economy, helping clients understand how they can reduce their carbon footprint and what the accelerating transition to the circular economy means for their business. I spent my early career working as a structural engineer in Arup Associates.

I became an engineer in the built environment because I am interested in two challenges: alleviating poverty through international development and mitigating climate change through new technology and systems. I am increasingly fascinated by the conflicts which arise between these two areas. My dual interests have led me to work on building and infrastructure projects across the developed and developing world, working with both fee-paying and third-sector clients.
