I am an author on leadership techniques and have worked in management consulting, executive search and financial services.

Inspired by Shackleton’s story of leading a team successfully through a gruelling two-year ordeal, I set out to find out how he did it. The result is Shackleton’s Way, a book packed with inspiring and practical business and life lessons.

In 1980, while working in executive search, I had a front-row seat for the earliest days of the Reagan administration as part of the Transition Team assigned to Presidential Personnel. Reagan’s story of coaching himself from an unpromising start to leader of the free world prompted me to write Reagan’s Journey – Lessons from a Remarkable Career.

Today, at business conferences and universities, I speak on Leadership Lessons from the Great Antarctic Explorer and Reagan’s Remarkable Career.
