The legal profession should not be permitted to...
I am a solicitor in the legal team at Arup and have been at the firm for just over six years. I joined after law school and trained and qualified with the team in London.
I have a wide practice covering both contentious and non-contentious matters and recently completed an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution. My thesis sought to determine whether building information modelling (BIM) and integrated project insurance provide the ingredients for collaboration in the construction industry.
I sit on the Arup Global BIM Taskforce and was involved in providing feedback to the Government’s BIM Task Group on PAS1192-2. In addition, I presented at this year’s BIM Show Live, one of only two lawyers invited to do so. I am a keen supporter of BIM and its benefits in respect of collaboration, and believe that lawyers have an important role to play in actively facilitating the success of BIM enabled projects.
