Open data could help planners and designers...
I lead the spatial technology team in the IT and communications group at Arup which I joined in 2007. I have over 14 years’ experience of applying geographic information systems (GIS) and related technologies in both the private and public sectors and across an array of subject areas.
My project experience ranges from simple site analysis to large complex projects, including HS2, City of Tshwane Masterplan and London 2012 Olympics.
I am a Fellow with the British Cartographic and Royal Geographical societies and a Chartered Geographer through the Royal Geographical Society. I am an assessor for the Chartered Geographer Scheme at the Royal Geographical Society and have also recently taken on the role as external examiner for some GIS courses at University College London.
Outside of work and ‘geeking’ I am a keen photographer and enjoy taking photos, especially at the macro level, capturing what isn’t apparent at first glance.
