There’s plenty of discussion about...
I have worked for Arup for eight years as a mechanical and energy engineer.
I am interested in energy use, efficiency, and supply at the multi-building/district scale. I have led education, medical, and corporate campus masterplans, as well as a variety of district energy schematic design projects. My role within these projects has been to generate qualitative and quantitative engineering and cost data that allows clients to make informed infrastructure and utilities decisions.
Recently I have become interested in the proposition for district energy in cities, and the glaringly obvious link to resilience. This is discussed extensively in the electrical/"micro-grid” context, but less so in the thermal energy context.
