2014 has kicked off with a host of news stories reminding us about some of the big issues we wrestle with at Arup every day – risk, resilience and climate change. North America is in the deep freeze with ice storms and temperatures plunging...
I am an Arup Trustee and former Chairman of the Group where I promoted and helped grow the firm’s external profile and influence, as well as maintaining strong links with several of our key clients and projects and continue to do so.
Previously, with a background in building design, I have worked with many of the world’s architects for private and public sector clients in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, building up a wide business experience across many international markets. I remain a strong advocate of the importance of design creativity, technical innovation and quality.
I hold several external non-executive roles, including the chairman of business organisation London First, and will join the Board of Grosvenor Group later this year. In 2012, I was elected Honorary Fellow of RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) and I continue as a member of the Governing Council of Imperial College, my alma mater.
