I am Chairman of the Arup Group and in this role I work with many of the world’s best consulting engineers, designers, planners and business consultants. I am also a strong advocate of the importance of design creativity, technical innovation and quality.
My background is in civil engineering and I have built up extensive business experience across many international markets. I am active on many external panels, including roles as Chairman of Governors of the Infrastructure and Urban Development Community at the World Economic Forum and non-executive Chairman of London First, a business membership organisation. I also sit on the Professional and Business Services Advisory Group reporting to UKTI, as well as working as a member of the UK Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Group.
